I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: 1 Chronicles 29:17

That is , the Lord has pleasure in willing offerings. He is watching for willing offerings that He may find pleasure therein, and so He tries our wills by placing us in circumstances where our gifts cost so as to hurt.  He watches then to see whether we give grudgingly or of necessity or whether by reliance on His indwelling presence we still offer willingly unto the Lord. He tests our wills in order that He may  see His own life in us and thus rejoice over us with great joy.

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2Corinthians 9:7

Bless your one loaf and pass it out to the multitude and it will feed them and return you seven basketfuls. Hoard it and guard it and it will shrivel down to a mildewed crust.  Unknown.
