It’s so good to wake up with good song on your heart. This morning it was I Can Trust Jesus. I am thankful for the reassurance we can have that Jesus is trustworthy.

I Can Trust Jesus

God picked up a sparrow that could no longer fly.
He brushed off it’s wonds and then watched it soar into the sky
If he’s mindful of creation on this I can depend
I am his child and i can place all my trust in him

I can trust Jesus, I can trust Jesus
He never once has failed to meet my needs.
He is my strong tower.
The strength in my weakest hour
I can trust Jesus, He takes care of me

I have prayed some prayers thought they never were heard
But i held to God’s hand and kept right on trusting in his word
My wants and God’s desires don’t always agree
But I lean on his will for he always knows whats best for me

I can trust Jesus, I can trust Jesus
He never once has failed to meet my needs.
He is my strong tower.
The strength in my weakest hour
I can trust Jesus, He takes care of me

I am so thankful for those that can write what is in my heart.

Psalms 42

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.

Are as follows…

It is a description of a soul/heart longing after God and his word, wanting to grow closer to God day by day. One that is seeking God but can’t see him. One that might be troubled with the troubles of life yet longs to feel God’s presence. It tells of one that does what they know to do, going to the house of worship, praising God, yet still needing and longing for more.

It also shows how when we seek and search for God, wondering where he might be, in a worldly situation and in our personal lives, there is no need to fear or doubt God. There is no need to be cast down. We can hope in God. We are reminded that in God is our help, strength and rock. Because we have God in which to place our hope, we can have a healthy countenance or be happy and offer praise unto God even when we cannot see him.

There is the human question and concern for God’s presence and a soul’s trust in the hope we can have in God.

Isaiah 26:1-4
In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.  Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

I am thankful for perfect peace in the midst of a storm.

My life has been quite uncertain lately. My job is not very stable, my home may be taken from me, there is great sickness in my family and yet through all of this I have peace. When people ask how I am, I can only say that I am good. God is good. It is because of him that I can go on. My trust in him is what keeps me on a level keel when the sea of life is tossing.

In my devotions a while back I was looking for scriptures in which I can continue to place my trust. I had been reading in Hebrews about those that have gone before us in faith. I was at the last chapter and this is what I found.

King James Version – Heb 13:1-8
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

I have a couple other Bibles that I use for reference and I looked up the same passage in them.

The Amplified Version – Hebrews 13:5-6
Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money – [including] greed, avarice, lust and craving for earthly possessions – and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He (God) Himself said, I will not in any way leave you with out support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless, not forsake not let [you] down, [relax My hold on you]. – Assuredly not!
So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper, I will not be seized with alarm – I will not fear or dread or be terrified. What can man do to me?

Interlinear Greek-English New Testament – Hebrews 13:5-6
Without love of money [let your] manner of life [be], satisfied with present [circumstances]; he for has said, In no wise thee will I leave, not in any wise thee will I forsake.
So that we may boldly say, [The] Lord [is] to me a helper, and I will not be afraid: what shall do to me man?

I have held on to these verses. We can feel contentment in our lives even though it seams that the bottom has fallen out because God has promised to be our provider. With this confidence we can boldly and with experienced knowledge say “Who or what can come against me? God is my helper, I don’t have to be afraid.”

Because of this we can be well in our soul, spirit, and attitude even though life isn’t well.

I have had this song on my heart the past week. As I have begun to name the moments of thanksgiving, of acknowledging God in each thing, the question came to me; is it any wonder that I love Him? After all God has done for me, the moments of blessings, the over flowing grace, the daily mercies, the gentle rebukes. How can I not love Him?

Is It Any Wonder?

When I think how Jesus loved me
How he waited patiently
Even when I turned my back and walked away.
When he knew I wanted everything this world could offer me,
Then I guess he knew the price I’d have to pay.
So he watched me stumble downward,
Saw each compromise I made,
Heard each lie I whispered just to get my way.
Still he waited there to hear me
When I cried to Him and prayed
Then He saved my soul and that is why I say

Tell me, is it any wonder that I love Him
When you consider all He’s done for me?
And is it any wonder that I want to do His will
And let His light shine out for all to see?
And is it any wonder that I praise him
Each time I think of how He’s set me free?
And is it any wonder that I’ve given Him my heart,
When Jesus freely gave His life for me?

When I think how Jesus loves me,
How He watches patiently
How His arms are stretched to meet me when I run
When I’m feeling down and lonely,
How He’s there to comfort me.
In the darkness He becomes my morning sun
When I think of how He’s healed me,
How He’s touched me in my pain
How his gentle hand have whipped my tears away
How He’s taken every heartache and brought happiness again
Then I want the world to hear me when I say:

Tell me, is it any wonder that I love Him
When you consider all He’s done for me?
And is it any wonder that I want to do His will
And let His light shine out for all to see?
And is it any wonder that I praise him
Each time I think of how He’s set me free?
And is it any wonder that I’ve given Him my heart,
When Jesus freely gave His life for me?

God is so real and I can’t help but express my love for him.
