Psalms 27:14  Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

This “Waiting Stuff”

                 Many times in my life God has asked me to wait when I wanted to move forward. He has kept me in the dark when I asked for light. To my pleas for guidance His answer has often been Sit still, My daughter. I like to see progress. I look for evidence that God is at least doing something, If the shepherd leads us beside still waters when we were hoping for “white water” excitement, it is hard to believe anything really vital is taking place. God is silent. The house is silent. The phone doesn’t ring. the mailbox is empty. . .Of course for most of us this test of waiting does not take place in a silent and empty house, but in the course of regular work and appointments and taxpaying and grocery buying and trying to get the care fixed and the storm windows up; daily decisions have to go on being made, responsibilities fulfilled, families provided for, employers satisfied. How can we speak of waiting on God in the middle of all that? How be still?

                There is a secret place where the Christian dwells. It is the shadow of the Almighty. Transactions take p lace there which none but God know.      Elisabeth Elliot

Psalms 91:1-2, 4-5  He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Trust God for your day…Today
